This project required careful coordination with existing plumbing systems while supporting the updated layout for nurse stations, workrooms, restrooms, and laundry services.
Underground & Rough Plumbing Installation
For this healthcare renovation, Shelby Mechanical completed the underground sanitary and water line installations and tied all new systems into the existing onsite plumbing infrastructure.
Restroom Plumbing Renovation
Shelby Mechanical carefully removed and preserved existing restroom fixtures for reinstallation after renovation work was completed.
Restroom plumbing work included:
Removal and reinstallation of:
- (2) Existing tank-style toilets
- (2) Existing wall-hung lavatories with faucets
Additional restroom upgrades included:
- Mixing valves for lavatories
- Trap wrap installation on lavatory drains
- Reuse of existing water supplies and drainage systems
This approach allowed the customer to modernize the space while reusing existing fixtures and minimizing unnecessary replacement costs.
Nurse’s Station & Workroom Plumbing
The renovation included updated plumbing systems for both the nurse’s room and workroom areas.
Shelby Mechanical installed:
- (2) Elkay undermount sinks
- Delta faucets for sink stations
- (1) Point-of-use 2.5-gallon water heater beneath the nurse’s sink
These systems were designed to provide reliable hot and cold water access while supporting the daily operational needs of the healthcare staff.
Permits, Excavation & Code Compliance
Shelby Mechanical provided all required plumbing permits for the project and coordinated plumbing work alongside other trades throughout the renovation process.
